In the summer of 2016, Geosynthetics Limited was involved in a project with the National Trust at the stunning Fell Foot Park in the Lake District at Newby Bridge. Ahead of the construction of a new boat house, the Trust required a stable, durable surface to store boats on trailers.
Located within a sensitive National Park landscape, the solution needed to be sympathetic to the woodland setting while handling heavy mechanical pressure.
The TTE™ system delivers several key engineering benefits:

Advanced load distribution: The unique interlocking system ensures excellent load distribution, preventing surface deformation even under heavy plant machinery.

Root protection: Internal chambers protect grass roots from being crushed by tyres, allowing vegetation to survive even during periods of drought.

Permeability: Designed to handle saturated ground, the system remained stable and robust throughout intense rainfall periods.
The result is a surface that performs like a heavy-duty road but retains the visual integrity of a natural lawn. Despite extreme weather and unplanned construction traffic, the site has shown zero deformation and achieved natural recovery following the 2018 drought.
