Introducing Sarah-Jane

Geosynthetics Ltd would like to introduce our new Internal Sales Representative, Sarah-Jane Barker. Having joined the company in July Sarah-Jane has quickly settled into her new team and is now a vital member of the Geosynthetics sales team.

We sat down with Sarah-Jane and asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better, check out her answers below.

 

  1. What previous experience/education do you have?

 At the start of my career I was employed as an administration apprentice in a HR department and studied Business and Administration alongside work. After finishing my apprenticeship, I moved departments and was a customer service advisor dealing with incoming complaints, product queries and returns. During the last 3 years I have been in a business to business sales roles providing efficient service and products to meet specifications.

  1. What made you join Geosynthetics?

 I relocated a while ago and was looking for a new challenge to use the skills I have gained in my previous employment. As I grew up on a farm in the countryside, the environment that we live in has always been something I was interested in. Knowing that Geosynthetics offer environmentally friendly solutions means that I have a genuine interest in the products and what benefits they have to our environment.

  1. What do you enjoy the most about what you do?

 Providing a great level of customer service, with a product offering that helps shape the future of generations to come. Helping to solve problems that customers may have and providing the best product to meet the requirements of the customer.

  1. How would you describe yourself?

 I am left-handed, creative and enthusiastic and someone who loves a challenge and learning new things.

  1. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

 I like to read, learn new things, cook, bake, listen to new music and knit. I also enjoy walking and will get out in the fresh air when I can. My family have their own catering business and I help out when I can.

  1. What is your favourite film?

 American Sniper – based on a true story, I have read the book also! J

  1. What is your favourite meal and where is the best place to eat it?

 I love a Sunday beef roast with all the trimmings at my parents’ house. I grew up on a farm with my family and my parents have their own cows and pigs bred for meat.
