George’s Retirement

Geosynthetics Ltd are sad to announce that our Finance Director, Georgina Cooley, is leaving the company after a fantastic 9 years to enjoy her well-deserved retirement.

Georgina joined Geosynthetics Ltd in 2010 and from then on has transformed our Accounts Department into the success it is today. Georgina’s organisation and accuracy has been vital to our progression, as well as continuing to use her experience and expertise to train a number of apprentices which are now employed as full-time members of the accounts team.

Not only has Georgina transformed the accounts department but she has also played a huge part in the company for many other reasons such as her enthusiasm and creativity on the annual fundraiser day, Georgina always created amazing costumes for the whole accounts department and was one of the most competitive people when it came to the games and competitions.

Georgina has built some great friendships with many members of the team over her 9 years here and will be sorely missed by us all.  Georginas decision to retire is so she can spend more time with her husband and their grandchildren who are a big part of her life. Georgina now has 4 of the little ones to keep her entertained and active. We’re sure she will also continue to enjoy going to see Tigers play Rugby where she regularly meets up with her Dad and Sheilagh.  Outside of this Georgina is a big holiday lover and loves going to places she’s never been before so we’re certain she will continue to do this with her spare time!

When asked what her highlight was working for Geosynthetics Ltd Georgina said

“Joining a Company that is passionate about what it does and the team within it was wonderful and very refreshing to be part of a Company that is so open to looking at new ideas.

Using my knowledge and training experience to support the team to achieve their external accounts training was great.  All of them have shown such commitment and determination to gain their qualifications and it was very exciting to be part of that.

Being able to learn about the full company gave me opportunities to take on different challenges which in turn added to my job satisfaction.

Being offered the position of Finance Director was incredible, for the company to have such faith and trust in my abilities was an amazing feeling.”

A huge goodbye and thank you to Georgina for all she has done for the company over the years and we look forward to hearing about what she gets up to during retirement.
