Student Development Award

John Cleveland Sixth Form Centre Futures Conference

As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, members of the Geosynthetics Limited team recently attended the Futures Conference at John Cleveland Sixth Form Centre (JCC). Part of the presentation given, focused on the Student Development Award in which Geosynthetics Limited offers a Civil Engineering student a financial incentive, summer work placements and ongoing mentoring throughout their university career.

The presentations were well received and Janet Paterson, Assistant Principle and Head of Sixth Form at JCC commented; “A huge thank you again to our Geosynthetics Limited colleagues for their support. Ongoing links between the company and JCC Sixth Form sees students meeting regularly with workplace mentors, student visits to their Harrowbrook HQ, opportunities for workplace shadowing and access to an annual sponsorship package for one of our students who is moving on to study Engineering at University. Their recent visit to our end of year ‘Futures Conference’ gave students looking to future careers in Engineering time to listen and talk to Geosynthetics Limited staff about life in their industry. This direct link with a thriving local company provides our students with invaluable, work-linked opportunities”

Geosynthetics Limited hopes to nurture new and ongoing relationships with JCC and other local colleges in order to invest in the future talent of Civil Engineering in the local community.
